Roles Explained

Updated 21 Jun 20261 min read

Bootheo has three roles: Owner, Admin, and Staff. They're designed to match how photo booth operations actually work — one person owns the business, a small number of trusted people help run it, and the rest of the crew shows up and executes.

The roles

RoleAccess level
OwnerFull access. Manages billing, org settings, staff, and all event data. Auto-assigned to the account creator — cannot be invited or transferred.
AdminCan create and manage events, assign staff, and access Live Ops. Cannot access billing or org settings.
StaffCan view assigned sessions, progress through the crew timeline, and access venue and contact details for their assignments. Cannot create events or manage other staff.

Choosing between Admin and Staff

Give Admin access to people who help you run the business — a business partner, an operations manager, a lead who handles scheduling. Give Staff access to everyone else.

If someone only shows up and works events, they're Staff. If someone needs to build events, assign crew, or monitor Live Ops on your behalf, they're Admin.

A note on Owner

There is one Owner per organization. It's assigned automatically when the account is created and cannot be transferred or duplicated. If your business structure changes, contact support@bootheo.com.
