Events and Sessions Explained
If there's one concept worth understanding before anything else in Bootheo, it's this one.
The distinction
An event is the engagement. It represents the contract — a wedding, a corporate holiday party, a school dance, a brand activation. It has a client. It has a name. It's the thing you sold.
A session is a physical appearance. It has a date, a start time, an end time, a venue, and a booth setup. It's the thing your crew shows up for.
Every event has at least one session. Many have more.
Why it matters
A two-night corporate conference is one event with two sessions. A wedding with a cocktail hour booth and a separate after-party the next day is one event with two sessions. A client who books you for their entire summer concert series is one event with eight sessions.
Keeping these under one event means your client history stays clean, your reporting stays accurate, and your crew knows exactly which appearance they're assigned to — not just which client.
Where this shows up in Bootheo
Everything operational lives at the session level — staff assignments, the crew timeline, Live Ops, gear tracking, and post-event debriefs. The event is the container. The session is where the work happens.
